Drawing on richly emotional folk and Americana influences, the trio had artists such as Blaze Foley, Jessica Pratt and Big Thief on heavy rotation during the album's recording. The result combines their renowned production prowess with even greater warmth, blending classic songwriting with an exceptional roster of guest vocalists. The band channelled their analogue values into the album's contemporary Americana sound.
