The Beginning

Founder Ron Roloff

Ron founded Strictly Discs in 1988 as the CD became the rising medium for physical music while the vinyl record nearly went extinct.

Alongside vinyl's early resurgence In 2010, Ron left his role in the shop and began to hit the open road in search of used wax.

Then

Ownership Transition

Ron's wife Angie took over day-to-day operations in 2010, overseeing Strictly Discs 13+ year growth as the largest record shop in Wisconsin, their entry in the CIMS coalition and served as an indy record shop pioneer in selling used records and CDs online.

After a 17 year career as a marketing agency executive, UW-Madison alum and Glancey Holdings founder Rick Stoner acquired Strictly Discs from Ron and Angie in November 2023.

Now

A New Generation of Indy Vinyl Retail

Today, Rick runs the business with GM Evan Woodward, Operations Manager Ed Slavin, Assistant General Manager Mark Chaney and Cambridge Manager Dan Donahue, alongside a kind and knowledgeable crew of part-time staff.
