About Record Store Day

Record Store Day launched in 2007 with the idea to recognize independent record stores, Record Store Day (RSD) has grown into a global phenomenon. The annual list of RSD exclusives continues to expand, as more labels continue to open their catalogs to an appreciative audience that grows each year.

Whether you're a recordhead who camps out overnight or somebody who waits until the afternoon for a more leisurely experience, we've got your back.

The Plan

We OPEN outside at 7:00AM. Our commitment to you: the highest volume/selection of RSD titles we can get our hands on AND the shortest in-line wait times possible.

Line to form westbound on Monroe Street. While in line you will be handed a menu of all RSD titles, starting around 6:30 AM. Around 6:45/7:00 AM, we’ll shift the line into Harrison Street for the morning block party event. We’ll have live DJ sets with amplified audio, heat lamps (if necessary…this is April in Wisconsin…so probably necessary), food and drink sponsor tents giving out free samples, bargain and marked down records to peruse and keep you vibing while you wait.

We will pull your requests & you will check out outside. Throughout the day, follow our Instagram and Facebook stories @StrictlyDiscs for updates on sold out titles.

We usually have a pack of overnight hardos, along with another wave of early risers at 4-6 AM. Once we begin selling at 7 AM, the line always looks longer than it moves with wait times anywhere from 30-90 minutes. Our advice to you; fill out a wishlist and get here as early as you can for your best chance at getting what you want.

The shop will open for normal browsing and primo fresh-used collectible LPs downstairs when the RSD line is gone, usually between Noon and 1:00. Remaining RSD titles will be located upstairs. Primo fresh-used titles downstairs, with sneak peeks in our stories all week.

"This is not 'Nam. There are rules."

All priority to those who wait in-line! Out-of-state shipping customers: all dibs are given to those live in the flesh. You can shop from strictlydiscs.com for shipping at 7AM on Sunday, 4/19.

To give yourself the best chance of getting what you want, fill out a wishlist and get here as early as you can.

There are no preorders, no reservations, no holds, no phone orders. RSD releases are only available in person at Strictly Discs from 7AM-8PM Saturday.

Any remaining stock will be available Sunday at 7AM on strictlydiscs.com and in-store when we open at 10AM Sunday.

We do not buy used CDs or LPs on Record Store Day.

We do not accept in-store credit, Strictly Record Club credit, the Strictly Record Club 10% discount or any coupons for Record Store Day releases.

Record Store Day titles do not count towards the Buy 12 Get 1 Free program.

Record Store Day items are limited to one title per person.

Hang with your fellow recordheads!

Music, vibes and outdoor used vinyl bins (weather permitting) to pick while you wait.

Fellow small business sponsors slingin' cheese, beer and giveaways on Harrison Street.
